Another self portrait from the mirror behind my computer. I was happy with the last one even though I didn't look happy. So I decided to give it another go - this time with a happy expression. Those of you who know me may think that the earlier one is a better likeness, but that's only because I don't go around making this face.
Just some recent life drawings. The first two were done with marker in my sketchbook. I haven't done much work in marker, but I think I like the way these worked out. Thinking I'll try exploring this medium more. One thing I like about marker is that you have to plan out your values more carefully, because you have a vey limited set to work with. John Watkiss http://johnwatkiss.blogspot.com/ is a master at this, but I think he is using both marker and charcoal together - also something I want to try.
Had a little time to kill at work today and I did this little sketch from imagination. Hope it doesn't show my mood at that time (computer problems, RAID rebuilding). I had fun playing with the filters. Just needed to do something fun.
